Who we help

Future planning

At this stage of life, there can be a lot going on. You could be helping your parents, supporting children or grandchildren, paying off a mortgage, building savings and pensions, running a business or thinking about retirement.

Our number one insight?
Know your numbers.

With so much competition for your attention and your money, it can be easy to put future planning off. Good financial planning helps you enjoy what you have today while making sure you’re putting enough aside for the future.

We start by looking at what you own, what you owe, what’s coming in and what’s going out. Then we add the things you want your money to do. That could be helping your family, working less, travelling more or eventually giving up work altogether.

Retiring early - relief and excitement.

Before speaking with Insight, I genuinely thought I would need to keep working for several more years. Retirement felt quite daunting because I didn’t really understand how it all worked or whether we would have enough to live on.

My wife, who had been a teacher throughout her career, was feeling exhausted and ready to stop work, but we weren’t sure if that was financially possible.

After meeting with Pam (our adviser), everything was explained clearly and simply. We looked at our pensions, savings and other assets, and for the first time we could see how our finances could help support us to retire.

Six months later, my wife was able to retire, and I’m now newly retired myself. What once felt unsure now feels relief and exciting.

Understanding how to access our pensions and seeing that we had the resources to provide the income we need has given us real peace of mind. We can now look forward to the next chapter of our lives with confidence, knowing we have a clear plan in place”

A plan that changes with you.

Our cashflow modelling shows how your choices affect your finances over time. You may have several good uses for your money. What happens if you save more, spend more, pay off your mortgage sooner or retire earlier?

We’ll recommend what should happen now and what can wait, and we’ll keep reviewing the plan with you to make sure it continues to work for you.

We give advice based on you.

Answering your questions.

  • How much should I be saving?
  • When can I afford to retire?
  • Can I afford to help my children financially?
  • Do I need to plan for inheritance tax?
  • Do I need to update my will?

Many clients come to us with questions, ‘Can we help our children?’, ‘Could I work four days?’, ‘Are we doing enough?’ Questions like these are a good place to start, because we can put numbers on the life you want to live.
