Q & A with Krishanth
How did you get into financial services?
I got into financial services straight out of university. I started off as a protection adviser and made my way up to become a financial planner. I joined Insight in July 2026.
What are your areas of expertise?
My area of expertise would naturally be protection due to a strong background in that sector but I am well-versed in investments, retirement planning and estate planning too.
What do you love helping clients with?
I love helping clients solve the financial challenges and uncertainties that can sometimes feel overwhelming. I take the time to understand what really matters to each person and help them make sense of their finances, so they can make confident decisions and feel more in control of their future.
What I enjoy most is knowing that I’ve made a real difference to someone’s life. Whether that’s helping them work towards their goals, make better financial decisions, or simply giving them peace of mind about the future. I want my clients to feel that they’re in a better place because of the advice and support I’ve given them.
I wish more people understood that financial advice isn’t just about making a transaction or choosing the right product. It’s about looking at the bigger picture and putting together a plan that’s tailored to you, your circumstances and what you want to achieve in life.
Everyone’s goals and priorities are different, so there shouldn’t be a one-size-fits-all approach. Good financial advice is about understanding where you are today, where you want to get to, and helping you build a plan to get there.

What advice have you given that helped a client and made you proud?
One of the things I’m most proud of is helping a client move their pension into a more suitable arrangement that was better aligned with their goals and what they wanted to achieve.
For me, it wasn’t just about recommending a different pension. It was about helping the client understand where they were, what their options were, and finding a solution to a problem that had been causing them uncertainty. Seeing that they came away feeling clearer, more confident and reassured about their future is what makes me proud of the work I do.
What do you wish people knew about financial advice?
I wish more people understood that financial advice isn’t just about making a transaction or choosing the right product. It’s about looking at the bigger picture and putting together a plan that’s tailored to you, your circumstances and what you want to achieve in life.

What’s the most unusual thing you’ve ever helped a client fund?
Probably helping a client plan for the ongoing costs of maintaining their vintage car collection. It’s not something that comes up every day, but it was a great example of why I enjoy financial planning. Everyone has different things that they love and want to spend their money on, and my job is to help make sure those things fit into a wider financial plan.
What’s your personal financial freedom dream?
My financial freedom dream is to have the freedom to travel as much as I can, whenever I want to. I’d love to visit the places everyone talks about but also discover some of the more unusual and less well-known places around the world.
For me, financial freedom is about having the choice to spend my time doing the things I enjoy, without having to worry about whether I can afford to do them.
What’s the best thing you’ve ever spent money on?
Holidays, and I think they always will be. I love travelling, seeing new places and experiencing different cultures, but most of all, it’s the memories that make it worthwhile. You can’t put a price on the experiences you have and the memories you create, and those are the things that stay with you long after the holiday is over.
What’s the one luxury you could never give up?
I know I’ve probably mentioned holidays a lot by now, but they really are the one luxury I couldn’t give up! I love having the freedom to travel, discover new places and experience different cultures. For me, it’s less about luxury itself and more about the experiences, the memories and having something exciting to look forward to.
What’s something colleagues would be surprised to learn about you?
I’m a bit of a movie fanatic! I try to watch a couple of films every week, so there’s a good chance I’ll have a film recommendation for almost any occasion. I love discovering something new, but I’m also partial to going back to an old favourite.
Start saving and investing as early as possible, even if it’s only a small amount. I think it’s easy when you’re younger to feel that you need to have lots of money before you start but consistently putting something aside and making use of tax-efficient investments can make a big difference over time.
