Q & A with Jon

How did you get into financial services?

I was looking for a career where I would speak to people face to face and where I could make a meaningful impact and help people. I have always had an interest in finance, though I found it confusing. Learning about finance so as to be able to help people who, like me, found it confusing seemed to be a good direction to go in and I really enjoy seeing peoples money work positively for them. I joined Insight in October 2024.

Before joining Insight, I have had a few careers. I was in the police for 13 years and more recently I have worked for one of the Big Four consultancy firms in London, working mainly in risk and compliance and resilience roles.

What do you love helping clients with?

I really like helping people make the most of their money, in a tax efficient way.

What advice have you given that helped a client and made you proud?

Identifying that a client could retire years earlier than they expected.

Jon's golden nugget

The best time to start saving / investing is now. Compound interest is a wonderful thing.
