Q & A with Jake
How did you get into financial services?
I entered Financial Services straight out of education, completing an apprenticeship through St James’s Place. Being a financial adviser was something that I knew I wanted to do from a young age. I joined Insight in April 2022.
What are your areas of expertise?
Tax planning for high earners. Inheritance Tax and Intergenerational Planning. Local Government, Teachers and University Pension schemes, Business Tax Planning and Advice.
What do you love helping clients with?
I love seeing a client achieve what they thought might not be possible due to their financial positions.
Helping clients to trust themselves to make a big purchase or allowing them to feel they can live the lifestyle they want are the main elements that bring me satisfaction on a daily basis.
What advice have you given that helped a client and made you proud?
Spend the money! I see so many clients who are scared to spend their money due to worry about what might happen in the future. The reality is that many of them can afford the new kitchen, car they have always wanted or that one big trip they have always dreamed of going on and it won’t drastically affect their financial futures.
Advice tailor-made for my personal requirements
When it comes to making decisions that involve financial security and the future, it is vital to feel you can trust the advice you are given so that you have peace of mind. In this respect I would fully recommend Insight Financial Associates. They assigned me to Jake Holmes, whose calm and knowledgeable approach made me feel confident and reassured at all times. Jake took time to get to know me and listened carefully to my concerns and questions.
