Q & A with Bridie

How did you get into financial services?

I entered the financial services industry after completing my undergraduate degree, as I have always had a strong interest in the sector. A career as an Independent Financial Adviser appealed to me because it combined my passion for finance with the flexibility and client-focused nature I was looking for in a role. I joined Insight in September 2023.

What are your areas of expertise?

I specialise in financial planning for parents of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping families create long-term financial security and peace of mind. I also have significant experience in inheritance tax planning and advising teachers on the Teachers’ Pension Scheme and retirement planning.

What do you love helping clients with?

I enjoy helping clients understand and feel confident about their financial decisions. One of my strengths is taking complex financial concepts and explaining them in a clear, concise, and easy-to-understand way, allowing clients to make informed decisions with confidence. I find it particularly rewarding to help SEN families, as well as clients navigating inheritance tax and retirement planning, achieve greater peace of mind about their future.

Bridie's golden nugget

A key thing I wish more people understood is that with the right financial planning in place, most goals become far more achievable than they initially seem. It’s not just about investments or tax efficiency - it’s about having a clear, structured plan so you can make decisions with confidence and less uncertainty about the future.

More about Bridie

What advice have you given that made you proud?

One of the most rewarding aspects of my role has been helping clients who have spent years avoiding their financial planning to finally feel in control and confident about their situation. I aim to make financial planning feel achievable and straightforward, rather than something to be overwhelmed or anxious about.

On one occasion, a client told me they were “dreading our initial meeting,” but afterwards felt relieved and reassured. Moments like that, where clients leave feeling lighter and more in control, are what I find most fulfilling.

What’s your personal financial freedom dream?

I would like to be able to take a month off every year to start travelling around the world. I would like to first start in South America and work my way around.

Tell us about something you’ve done for charity?

I ran a half marathon for Alcohol Change UK in April of 2025 and raised nearly £1,000.

What’s the one luxury you could never give up?

My Pilates membership.
